Who Ate My Lunch?

This is a demo of my implementation using GPT-4 for dynamic dialog generation. But this is not only about dialog generation, some of the objectives of the game are dependent on what the player says or on what the NPC response is.

Immersion

As part of my Master’s degree research, the goal is to create a system where the player can be even more immersed in the gameplay and I feel that giving this level of control plays a big part in achieving that. All of this was done using Unreal Engine and C++.

Also in this implementation, the writer of the game is very much intertwined with this process, all the generated responses are based on a database of personal memories, personality, and context that is tailor-made to each NPC, this assures that each NPC has their own voice in the game world and knowledge of what is going on. Much writing is involved to deliver a great and immersive experience.
